Peter Higbee  MCSE  - IT Consultant, Technologist and Owner

Peter’s interest in tech-support began as a geology student at UC Berkeley, where he worked primarily on digital mapping and real-time GPS data collection. He taught digital field mapping to Berkeley undergraduates, as well as worked at the Berkeley Space Sciences Lab as a mapping specialist and IT analyst.

After graduating, his interests focused on computing and tech-support. He worked with several companies in Berkeley, California (Stillwater Sciences and Technicon). A year later, Peter moved to New Zealand where he worked as a IT Specialist for Ra Productions animation studio. In 2002, Peter returned to academia as an IT Consultant at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.

Upon returning to California in 2005, he started Tech-Tonics and began full time free-lance IT support and web development in Marin County.

Peter’s specialties include: Everything Mac OSX, Windows based computer environments, Windows Servers, Networking, Security, Database Design and Management, Web and Email Servers, Design, Web Development, and System/Network Design… “Hardware, Software Management”.

 

Kris Backenstose MCSE VCP – CTO, Systems Analyst

Kris started his Information Technology (IT) career providing computer repair services for a nation wide chain of computer stores where customer service and price were primary priorities. After gaining industry recognized certification in systems design and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) he joined an initiative as Chief Technology Officer to provide architectural design decision using enterprise IT solutions for the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD).

After adding enterprise GIS and document management to his portfolio for LACCD, Kris moved on to design an integrated software and hardware solution for the Starlight Children’s Foundation to provide distractive therapy for hospitalized children. In addition to this work he continued to expose himself in the document management and business workflow automation sector under the umbrella of the Educational Partnering Group, now known as EPG Technologies LLC.

Once finding his way to the bay area, Kris began working with cloud computing for Irvine Consulting Services, Inc., a bay area IT Consulting firm with Architectural/Engineering/Construction (AEC) and Accounting small business clients dispersed throughout the bay area and inside their own enterprise cloud infrastructure.
